On October 21st, God willing, George will run in the Detroit Free Press Marathon to increase awareness of Orthodox missions and to raise funds for our mission work in Albania. We have created a web site (go to www.runforalbania.org, or click on the image above) to create interest in this event and to give people an on-line way to pledge their support for this event.
George has been training hard for this event, despite the challenges of training for a marathon in Tirana, Albania. He has had to contend with bad road surfaces, traffic, air pollution, and just simply finding the time to train with a busy, and often unpredictable missionary work schedule.

George has spent a lot of time touring America to spread the word about missions and to raise funds. Although this work has been very enjoyable and rewarding, we hope that this event (and we hope to make it an annual event) will allow us to accomplish the same thing without taking George away from our family and his work for so much time.
The whole idea behind this effort is for people to be able to tell their family, friends, and even coworkers about this event and to share with them a tangible way to learn about, and get involved in missions. Please spread the word!
